FOB Gardez Lightning –Microgrid Installation
Location: Forward Operating Base (FOB) Gardez Lightning, Afghanistan
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Philadelphia District
AMC/ISI designed and delivered a 250kW redundant microgrid system to replace outdated spot generators at FOB Gardez Lightning. The project included NEC-compliant rewiring, targeted facility upgrades, and manual excavation to minimize disruption for Special Forces personnel. The system was completed 45 days early, enhancing energy security and eliminating safety risks.

SunDial Smart Power – Deployable Solar Hybrid Systems
Location: Multiple Locations – Afghanistan
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Philadelphia District
AMC/ISI supported the U.S. Army’s Operational Energy Program by deploying eight 28kW solar-powered hybrid systems and servicing three existing units across remote sites. Each system was customized for local conditions to reduce fossil fuel use and improve energy efficiency. The initiative resulted in over 26,500 gallons of fuel saved in the first year, demonstrating the impact of tactical renewable energy solutions.

Walton Camp 550 –750kW Microgrid System
Location: Kandahar Airfield (KAF), Afghanistan
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Philadelphia District
AMC/ISI designed and installed a fully redundant 750kW diesel-powered microgrid system to replace non-compliant generators at Walton Camp 550. The project ensured uninterrupted, NEC-compliant power delivery through dual generators, transformers, and seamless integration with existing distribution. Delivered on time and within budget, the system enhanced reliability and operational safety for Special Forces personnel.

4.2M Satellite Earth Station – Microgrid Infrastructure Deployment
Location: Bagram Airfield (BAF), Afghanistan
Client: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Philadelphia District
AMC/ISI deployed a dedicated microgrid power system to support a 4.2-meter satellite uplink station for U.S. military high-bandwidth communications. The scope included reinforced pad construction, grounding, and full electrical infrastructure with transformer, standby generator, switchboard, ATS, and panelboards. Completed 25 days ahead of schedule, the project delivered high-reliability power for mission-critical operations.
